Alumni & external members

Staff, students, and associated members of AUT are entitled to membership with the Te Mātāpuna Library & Learning Services.

Access to Te Mātāpuna Library & Learning Services resources is also available for:

  • Alumni (past students of AUT)
  • Retired AUT staff members
  • External applicants
  • Current students of other New Zealand and Australian universities

Te Mātāpuna Library & Learning Services Associate Membership

Alumni, retired AUT staff members, and external applicants can apply for Associate membership. To apply, submit the application form to the Manager of the Engagement team, claire.gabriel@aut.ac.nz

  • AUT Alumni Graduate associate applicants and retired AUT staff members can sign up for membership for free
  • External associate applicants can sign up for 12 months for $300 or 6 months for $150

Borrowing privileges

  • Up to 20 items may be borrowed at one time - all books must be borrowed onsite at the Campus Libraries
  • Books are issued for 14 days, subject to recall (you will be sent an email to your AUT email address advising the new due date if item is recalled)
  • Items may be renewed up to 5 times, subject to recall
  • Inter-campus requests

Restrictions

  • Access to electronic journals and databases is on-site only in the Library - there is no remote access
  • Printing, copying and scanning are not provided
  • Print journals and audio-visual materials may be only be used on site in the Library
  • Books must be borrowed in person at the Campus Libraries

Reciprocal borrower membership

Students and staff from other New Zealand or Australian universities can apply for Reciprocal Borrower membership.

To apply, submit the Application form to the Lending Desk along with proof of your current registration to your university (i.e. a current student ID card)

Borrowing privileges

  • Up to 20 items may be borrowed at one time
  • Books are issued for 14 days, subject to recall (you will be sent an email to your AUT email address advising the new due date if an item is recalled)
  • Items may be renewed up to 5 times, subject to recall

Restrictions

  • No access to licensed electronic resources or Course Reserve material
  • Audio-visual material and print journals may only be used in the Library
  • Items on loan to other patrons may not be recalled
