Drop-ins about academic writing

During teaching weeks, you can drop in to chat with a learning advisor. Due to high demand, drop-ins are limited to 15 minutes per student twice per semester (not more than once per week).

What you can expect at drop-ins

  • General advice on strategies that will help to improve your writing
  • Recommendations to online resources or workshops relevant to you
  • Referrals to other student services and people.

What is not covered at drop-ins

Learning advisors do not proofread or check student writing. This is in accordance with AUT’s proofreading guidelines for student assessments and the guidelines for the proofreading of postgraduate theses and dissertations.

Drop-ins begin during Week 3 (Monday 11 March) and are available during teaching weeks.
